Status protocol
Each RFQ moves through a state machine that the customer sees. Your job is to flip it (or tell us to) when the real-world state changes.
When to act
- Quote received → quoted. Reply to our brief email with price + lead time + DFM concerns. Use the RFQ ref in the subject. (If you have a dashboard login, submit the quote directly from
/foundry/partner/rfqs/[id].) - Customer accepted → in_production. Mekka pings you. Confirm receipt + start within 48 h.
- Production done → shipped. Mark shipped on your dashboard with carrier + tracking, OR email the same to Mekka the same business day you drop the package. Photo of packed box first; tracking second is fine.
- Anything blocked or delayed. Email immediately — silence is the worst signal we can give the customer.
Response time expectations
- Quote turnaround: 48 hours unless the brief says otherwise.
- Production updates: at the cadence the photo SOP defines.
- Issue escalation: same business day.
RFQ ref discipline
Every email should carry the RFQ ref [RFQ-xxxxxxxx] in the subject line. We thread on this. Lose it and we lose the connection to the order — at scale this becomes someone's bad afternoon.
